Missouri Contemporary Ballet (“MCB”) is a not-for-profit, professional Ballet company that is committed to bringing dance entertainment to Columbia through the art of contemporary Ballet as a resident Company at the Missouri Theatre Center of the Arts.
MCB’s repertoire will include a multitude of styles and techniques of dance - - ballet en pointe, modern, lyrical, Broadway, Vegas - - creating exciting, edgy, hip entertainment to make the experience of live dance the truly artful and joyful event it can be for all ages.
By bringing in new and emerging choreographers to work with the dancers in a positive, nurturing and professional atmosphere, by providing educational and outreach performances to Columbia Schools, MU Children’s Hospital, retirement homes and throughout the Mid-Missouri area. MCB will maintain a full season at the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts along with a commitment to touring throughout the United States and internationally.
Missouri Contemporary Ballet will provide an exciting, enhancing entity to the quality of life through the appreciation of art in Columbia and to the growing reputation of the city.
MCB is under the Artistic Direction of Karen Mareck Grundy with Associate Artistic Director and Ballet Master, Sean France.
