The Artistic Home Of:

Missouri Technical Theater Institute
The Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts (MTCA) is excited to offer a new program for Columbia's young adults. High school juniors and seniors now have the chance to learn all aspects of technical theater work that are behind the performing arts experience – lights, sound, scenic construction and more. There will be opportunities to earn as they learn as participants will have the chance to serve as paid technical theater staff upon completion of the program.
MTTI classes will take place after school and under the guidance of MTCA's Production Manager, Tyler Richardson. Our hope is to inspire students to achieve greater academic success by exposing them to lessons in an exciting and creative theatrical atmosphere, while simultaneously instilling strong work and professional ethics for long-term career goals.
About Tyler Richardson:
Tyler Richardson has 20 years of experience in the visual and performing arts. He owned and operated the Grey Eagle Music Hall in Black Mt. and Asheville, NC producing as many as 300 concerts per year for ten years. Working with local and nationally touring companies, he helped create what is now one of the hottest music scenes in the country today. Tyler has been working as production manager at the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts since August 2005.
MTTI will meet every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 3:30-5:30pm at the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2009. This semester will focus on Sound.
