FRANK
FRANK was recently designed to give 20- & 30-somethings a more visible presence at the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts (as in, no pretense - just be FRANK, and enjoy the arts). FRANK isn't a person, per se, but rather a collective of young professionals with an interest in the arts. FRANK strives to foster members' lifelong appreciation of the arts.
Happy hours (a.k.a. membership meetings) are held monthly to plan programming designed for the members’ demographic. These meetings also serve as an opportunity to socialize, give input on programming at MTCA and to participate in the planning process of an annual FRANK fundraiser. FRANK is currently planning the 2009 Hot Dog!athon (Oct. 17). Stay tuned for more Hot Dog!athon details!
FRANK isn’t just about more responsibility and stuff to add to your to-do list. FRANK is designed so members can decide exactly what FRANK is. What’s the Hot Dog!athon going to be like? That all depends on the participation and input from members. FRANK membership is never stagnant – always fluid and fitting the needs of the members. 20- & 30-somethings are notoriously busy and over-scheduled, but FRANK provides an opportunity to participate in the community in a social setting. That way, it’s more play, less work!
Plus, if members want to see more bands, more films, more lectures – you name it – FRANK provides an avenue in which to make it happen at MTCA.
FRANK members are also privy to several discounts – at MTCA as well as several downtown businesses. The perks include:
-$10 main floor Hot Summer Nights tickets (usually $17-25) to see the Missouri Symphony Orchestra with various guest artists. Whether you’re a fan of the symphony or new to classical music, this is truly some of the best live music in Columbia.
-$2 off MTCA produced events and shows
-$1 off Ragtag films shown at MTCA (as part of the Missouri Theatre Film Series with Ragtag)
